2010 RobbyT Cards 3-10-10

Here are a few more from around Spring Training.....

Today's "pack" has a hot new RC and a couple of ex-Tigers.

My 3 card packs may be small, but at the low, low price of free they are still the best value in town!

The Phillies Lose The 2009 World Series

Well, that wasn't much, was it? At least if the Yankees had to win it, Hideki Matsui was the MVP. A class act indeed. For years I've wished the Tigers would've signed him.

So that puts the 2009 baseball season to bed, but we're just getting warmed up at RobbyT Cards. Later this month we'll debut the 2009 Stat Leader Cards and probably do a little something for the 2009 Season Awards as well. I'm hoping to fill in the blanks of the long offseason with a team by team look a the cards I've done over the last two years of all the teams that didn't make the postseason, hopefully with an interesting anecdote or two thrown in for good measure. Hopefully.

With football in full force, the first every RobbyT NFL cards will be arriving shortly too!

Thanks to everybody who's stopped by and checked out the cards! It's been a lot of fun!!

Chase Utley Does It Again!

I'll keep this one short and sweet, but what a Series Chase Utley is having. With that phantastic performance in Game 5, the Phillies are still alive and now the Series moves back to New York. Hopefully the Phillies can keep the Series going as this one is shaping up to be one of the most memorable Fall Classics in quite sometime.

Yankees One Game Away

Well, it's not looking good for the Phillies.

But the last two games have had plenty of highlights.

A Rod's replay assisted HR.

Jayson Werth's 2 HR game.

Pettitte's RBI single.

But I've just about lost all interest in this series. I'll watch it, because when it's over there won't be anymore until next spring, but you can bet if the Yankees win it I'll turn it off within seconds of the last out being made.

The World Series Is Even After Two

Two solid games so far. This series looks like it's going to be a good one!

Great performances by Cliff Lee and A. J. Burnett on the mound.

A solid performance by Pedro Martinez.

Not so solid performances by the umpires again, but I'm afraid that's going to be the underlying theme of this postseason.

Utley the first lefty to hit two HR in one game off of a lefty pitcher since Babe Ruth!

Unbelievable HR by Matsui on a great pitch that couldn't have been more than a foot off the ground!

I'm guessing the games in Philly are going to get a little more intense. No complaints so far though!

Yankees Finish Off Angels

Well crap. The Yankees are going to the World Series. Great, now there will be even more shots of Kate Hudson during the games.

Ah well, it was a good series, but the Angels just came up a little short.

I'll be pulling for the Phillies, but as long as it's a great series, which I think it will be, I don't really care who wins it. This Tiger fan is really looking forward to watching the Indians best two pitchers face off against each other tomorrow night in Game 1.

Angels Stay Alive

What a great game that turned out to be. I was this close to turning it off when I decided to watch the Yankees bat in the 7th, figuring if the Angels shut them down that it would be over. What a great finish!

I bet Angels fans were loving it when Teixeira doubled in three in the 7th.

One of my favorite things about postseason baseball is watching starting pitchers make relief appearances. Jered Weaver was amazing in the 8th inning last night. Count me among those wondering if he would pitch the 9th.

On to NY for Game 6 Saturday night and hopefully a Game 7 Sunday night.

Ugh.....A Rod One Step Away From The World Series

I think the headline expresses my feelings rather succinctly.

Go Phillies!

Angels Cut The Yankees Lead

I love it when guys like Jeff Mathis get a chance for a little postseason glory. A great finish on a day of great finishes.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't get to see all of this great game. But I do have cards for Derek Jeter and Howie Kendrick.

Enjoy.

Yankees Take Series Lead

Not that I saw the end of it. I can't stay awake through games that start at 3 in the afternoon. This one never had a chance. I did see the Angels take a 3-2 lead, only to miss A Rod's HR while watching SNL Weekend Update.

I guess A Rod is becoming something of a postseason hero. How annoying. Overshadowed by his HR were two good pitching performances by Joe Saunders and A.J. Burnett.

Hopefully the Angels come back and make a series out of it in Los Angeles of Anaheim. I'm losing interest in this one fast.

Yankees cruise in Game 1

C.C. pitched another great game and Matsui drove in a pair.

This was a pretty boring game.

Say hello to a 2008 Chone Figgins.

Yanks close down the Dome

The Yankees swept the Twins out of the playoffs, which is only good news in that there will never be another baseball game played in that #&@!@#$%^&* stadium again! Good riddance!!!!

Here's one of Nick Punto from earlier in the season actually scoring a run.

I acquired Mariano Rivera in my keeper league yesterday for Curtis Granderson. I am happy. Believe it or nor, Rivera's salary is cheaper (by $1....but still....) I am really happy.

Yanks win again

I'll admit it was a great game, save for all the slobbering Carey and Darling did over A Rod, but I just can't seem to get into this series knowing the Twins robbed us of that playoff spot.

Where was that Joe Nathan when we needed him Tuesday?

A Rod makes me want to puke. They should just rename the new Yankee Stadium "Howard J. Lamade Stadium." (Look it up......)

Oh well, let's hope the Twins can win Game 3 just to keep it interesting.

Yanks beat the Tig, er..., Twins....

The Yankees whooped up on the Twins tonight. I feel a little bit better. Not much. Just a little bit.....

C. C. Sabathia pitched a great game, save for three consecutive hits in the 3nd inning. The Yankees came right back and it wasn't much of a game from then on. Matsui had a big HR that put the game away early.

All-World Joe Mauer knocked in a run for the Twins. Here's his 2008 card. I'll be glad to see him sign with the Yankees when Posada retires.....
