The World Series Is Even After Two

Two solid games so far. This series looks like it's going to be a good one!

Great performances by Cliff Lee and A. J. Burnett on the mound.

A solid performance by Pedro Martinez.

Not so solid performances by the umpires again, but I'm afraid that's going to be the underlying theme of this postseason.

Utley the first lefty to hit two HR in one game off of a lefty pitcher since Babe Ruth!

Unbelievable HR by Matsui on a great pitch that couldn't have been more than a foot off the ground!

I'm guessing the games in Philly are going to get a little more intense. No complaints so far though!

Yankees Finish Off Angels

Well crap. The Yankees are going to the World Series. Great, now there will be even more shots of Kate Hudson during the games.

Ah well, it was a good series, but the Angels just came up a little short.

I'll be pulling for the Phillies, but as long as it's a great series, which I think it will be, I don't really care who wins it. This Tiger fan is really looking forward to watching the Indians best two pitchers face off against each other tomorrow night in Game 1.

Angels Stay Alive

What a great game that turned out to be. I was this close to turning it off when I decided to watch the Yankees bat in the 7th, figuring if the Angels shut them down that it would be over. What a great finish!

I bet Angels fans were loving it when Teixeira doubled in three in the 7th.

One of my favorite things about postseason baseball is watching starting pitchers make relief appearances. Jered Weaver was amazing in the 8th inning last night. Count me among those wondering if he would pitch the 9th.

On to NY for Game 6 Saturday night and hopefully a Game 7 Sunday night.

National League Champs!

Congrats to the Phillies for winning the N.L pennant.

Congrats to Ryan Howard for winning the series MVP award.

Congrats to this boring series being over. Hopefully someone in the A.L. actually gives the Phillies a tough go of it this postseason.

Ugh.....A Rod One Step Away From The World Series

I think the headline expresses my feelings rather succinctly.

Go Phillies!

Great Finish In Philly

Wow. I was pulling for the Dodgers since the Phillies won it all last year, but watching the Phils play it's hard to root against them. What an awesome 9th inning.

I loves me some Matt Stairs. Here's his 2008 October Heroes card with him pictured hitting the ball a country mile in the game against the Dodgers in last year's NLCS.

Angels Cut The Yankees Lead

I love it when guys like Jeff Mathis get a chance for a little postseason glory. A great finish on a day of great finishes.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't get to see all of this great game. But I do have cards for Derek Jeter and Howie Kendrick.

Enjoy.

Phillies Blank Dodgers To Take 2-1 Series Lead

I can't comment to much on this game. I was out watching the Bears fall apart against the Falcons and missed the entire thing.

I noticed in the box score this morning that Cliff Lee pitched himself one whale of a ball game. Shane Victorino fared pretty well too. I forgot I had the pic of him getting doused with beer at Wrigley earlier this season.

Hiroki Kuroda on the other hand? Not so hot...

Yankees Take Series Lead

Not that I saw the end of it. I can't stay awake through games that start at 3 in the afternoon. This one never had a chance. I did see the Angels take a 3-2 lead, only to miss A Rod's HR while watching SNL Weekend Update.

I guess A Rod is becoming something of a postseason hero. How annoying. Overshadowed by his HR were two good pitching performances by Joe Saunders and A.J. Burnett.

Hopefully the Angels come back and make a series out of it in Los Angeles of Anaheim. I'm losing interest in this one fast.

Yankees cruise in Game 1

C.C. pitched another great game and Matsui drove in a pair.

This was a pretty boring game.

Say hello to a 2008 Chone Figgins.

Dodgers comeback in the 8th

Ok, so I got up early this morning so I could go to work early so I could leave work early so I could come home and watch this game. I got home in the 2nd inning and watched a doozy of a game.....with the Phillies leading 1-0......when......when I fell asleep in the 7th inning. I woke up to see Pinky Sager interviewing Andre Ethier.

This is a problem folks. When I can't stay awake until the end of a game that starts at 3 in the afternoon.....well.....where was I going with this anyway? Getting old sucks......

Looks like I missed a great one again. Luckily, my 2+ hour nap will ensure that I'm up for all of the Angels-Yankees game.

Russell Martin and Andre Either rallied off the beleaguered Phillie bullpen, who don't seem to be doing all that well this postseason other than Brad Lidge.

Ryan Howard was at it again. Here he's pictured on a 2009 All Star Card.

Phillies start it off with a bang

Well if this whole series is going to be like this......then bring it on! This is one of those rare postseason series where I like both teams and I'm just hoping for some great baseball. Last night didn't disappoint. What a great game!

The captain of my keeper league team, Ryan Howard, came through in the clutch again. Yeah, I really like this guy.

Manny hit his 326th postseason HR (or something like that...) to get the Dodgers back in it, but despite Ryan Madson's best efforts, they couldn't pull it out. Oh well, it was a fun game to watch and hopefully this series goes seven games.

Phillies close out Rockies

Boy, this ended up being the best game of the first round. Three runs in the bottom of the 8th for the Rockies to take the lead followed by three runs in the top of the 9th for the Phillies to take it back. Here's Yorvit Torrealba after his double that temporarily gave the Rockies the lead before Huston Street did his Brad Lidge impression. Speaking of Lidge, what's got into him this postseason?

Was it just me or was Torrealba in the middle of every rally the Rockies had this series?

Here's Ryan Howard on a 2008 card. My phavorite Phillie is having a monster postseason so phar.

Ok, I'm phinished with the ph puns......phor real.....

Phillies take the series lead

I missed this one too. An afternoon of beer drinking did me in. I didn't make it past the 2nd inning. It looks like I missed a doozy though. Did I read it right this morning? Brad Lidge got a save? Holy crap!

I'm watching Game 4 as I'm writing this. I guess Carlos Gonzalez is tearing it up for the Rockies in this series. As I wrote that sentence Jayson Werth hit a HR to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead.

I'm going to stop now before I get confused.

Is Pedro ever going to pitch in the playoffs?

Yanks close down the Dome

The Yankees swept the Twins out of the playoffs, which is only good news in that there will never be another baseball game played in that #&@!@#$%^&* stadium again! Good riddance!!!!

Here's one of Nick Punto from earlier in the season actually scoring a run.

I acquired Mariano Rivera in my keeper league yesterday for Curtis Granderson. I am happy. Believe it or nor, Rivera's salary is cheaper (by $1....but still....) I am really happy.

Angels sweep Red Sox

I guess the Angels got tired of being the Red Sox' bitches. Wow.

I went to lunch when it was 5-1 Sox, expecting them to cruise to a win. I got home in the bottom of the 9th to see that things had happened that I missed yet again.

Congrats to the Angels, my new favorite team left in the playoffs.

I can't say I'm too sad to see Papelbon get slapped around though.....
